My Father died when I was 12

Rapper D-Black and founder of Black Avenue Muzik, has set the record straight about his childhood, dismissing claims of a privileged upbringing.
In a heartfelt revelation, he shared that his father passed away when he was just 12 years old, leaving his mother to bravely raise him and his siblings solo.
This significant life challenge has had a lasting impact on his journey. Despite these struggles, D-Black has risen to become a celebrated musician and entrepreneur, crediting his mother’s strength and resilience for his success.
D-Black set the record straight about his upbringing after a fan accused him of being a “dbee,” or a rich man’s son, for tweeting about Ghana’s economic struggles.
“Town make hard oo. Or ebe me? Chale,” D-Black posted, sparking the conversation. In response, he shared a heartfelt message, attributing his family’s resilience to his mother’s hard work and God’s grace.
He emphasized that his life story is far from the privileged upbringing some assumed, stressing that people shouldn’t judge his background based on his current success.
In October 2024, D-Black disclosed that he would dissolve Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and Copyrights Society of Ghana (COSGA) if he were the Tourism Minister.
He explained that the organisations weren’t living up to their purpose and needed a complete overhaul.
