Renowned songstress, Mzbel has voiced her concerns over the growing cyberbullying and the misuse of social media.
Speaking out about her experiences, Mzbel revealed that she has taken legal action against media personnel and bloggers in the past, although these cases were not made public due to its sensitive nature.
“I have sued media people before and taken a couple of people on, but it was not made public. They have learned their lessons and have repented. One is a journalist, and the rest are bloggers.”
Mzbel remarked that in recent times, social media is mostly used negatively for character assassination and spreading false information.

“Social media is now being used as a bad weapon. Abuse on social media and cyberbullying is becoming too much. Irrespective of the calibre of people, netizens will find a way to disrespect someone,”she lamented.
She criticized the tendency of some online platforms to publish unverified reports just for clickbait.
The songstress called on the state to enforce stricter laws on cyberbullying, stressing the need for accountability and responsible behaviour online.
