Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced concerns regarding the demonstrators at Democracy Hub’s recent actions.
He pointed out that although protests are a normal aspect of election season, they had to be carried out civilly and respectfully.
As part of his ongoing campaign trail in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh stopped by the Edubiase constituency in the New Edubiase district, where he paid respects to the Edubiasehene, local chiefs, imams, and clergy.
In his speech, he emphasized the need of upholding peace during political events and expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the leader of Democracy Hub, who was accused of stealing keys from a police car during a protest.
Dr. Prempeh contends that these acts are detrimental to the democratic process.
Oguayhia Oduro Panin Birikorang, the Edubiasehene, commended Dr. Prempeh for his excellent leadership in his official capacities and emphasized the NPP’s development-oriented policies that have helped the Ghanaian people.
