NDC Plans On Private Security Teams To Watch Over Ballot Boxes In December Polls

In order to protect vote boxes during the next elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced intentions to form private security teams.

Ashanti Regional Chairman Andrews Nana Akwasi made this announcement on Sunday at the party’s Manhyia North constituency campaign launch.

“We are informing the NPP that this time around, our polling agents and branches will establish our own security teams to protect our ballots,”

“Our polling agents should know that the party will form a security team to ensure the protection of the ballots.”

“For any NPP members who may try to disrupt activities on December 7, the NDC is prepared because we lack trust in the EC,”

With the goal of ensuring a fair and transparent election process, the NDC primarily justified this action by citing worries about the Electoral Commission’s (EC) legitimacy.

The streets of Manhyia North were packed with NDC supporters for the campaign launch, many of whom were dressed in party colors.
