NDC To Grant Free Tuition For First-Year University Students

In the event that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the election on December 7, it has pledged to eliminate tuition for all first-year students at public universities.

Additionally, the NDC promised to certify craftspeople around the country.

Festus Mwingsong Akyuuro, a member of the NDC Youth Manifesto team and a public relations specialist, made this announcement on Monday during the unveiling at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

The NDC states that the policy’s goal is to lessen parents’ financial burdens while ensuring that higher education is accessible.

A “Step-Up Certification Policy” will be implemented by the NDC with the goal of empowering craftsmen.

Through the project, craftsmen including masons, carpenters, hairdressers, seamstresses, and mechanics will be able to attend technical universities to further their education and obtain certifications in their specialties.

A nationwide apprenticeship program would also be implemented, guaranteeing that each apprentice would have the resources needed to begin their trade after graduation.
