Nero-X expresses his regret for campaigning for Nana Akufo-Addo
Nero X expresses his regret for campaigning for Nana Akufo-Addo.
Ghanaian musician Nero X has publicly expressed his regret over campaigning for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2020 elections, stating that he has now decided to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
Nero X revealed that his decision to switch political allegiance was based on a comparison of the current administration’s performance with that of Mahama’s tenure.
He noted that while he actively participated in the #4MoreForNana campaign, he now feels that the expectations set by the Akufo-Addo government have not been met.
“I campaigned for Akufo-Addo and supported the #4MoreForNana campaign, but after weighing it against Mahama’s government, I feel disappointed. Akufo-Addo asked us to be citizens, not spectators, so I am exercising my right to voice my concerns,” Nero X stated.

Reflecting on his decision to support John Mahama, Nero X emphasized that his choice is not about political party loyalty but rather about advocating for a leader who, in his view, will improve the country.
He praised Mahama for the infrastructure, hospitals, and schools developed during his administration, which he feels were undervalued at the time.
“I regret voting for the NPP, and I feel I betrayed Mahama. That’s why I recorded a campaign song for him,” Nero X admitted, adding that he now scores Mahama’s government 80% compared to Akufo-Addo’s 50%.
Nero X also urged the public to respect individuals’ political choices and stop the practice of insulting or criticizing others based on their political affiliations, as long as their decisions do not break any laws.
