NIB Grills Former NSA Boss Osei Assibey Over Ghost Names Scandal

As part of the ongoing investigation into the ghost names controversy, Osei Assibey Antwi, the former Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), has been questioned by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB).

According to sources, Mr. Osei Assibey was invited to appear before the NIB, and he did so on Thursday, March 20, accompanied by his attorney.

According to reports, he was questioned for several hours about the story, which concerns the NSA payroll fraud involving the enlistment of nonexistent staff.

Whether he was released following the interrogation is still unknown.

Following an exposé by The Fourth Estate that revealed numerous inconsistencies inside the program, the NIB began its investigations.

Gifty Oware Mensah and Kwaku Ohene Djan, two former NSA Deputy Directors, were previously invited and questioned about their involvement in the purported scam as part of the investigation.

Serious concerns regarding financial mismanagement within the scheme have been raised by the ghost names incident, leading to requests for more stringent oversight and responsibility.

In order to rebuild public trust in the program, stakeholders have encouraged the government to take firm action against anyone proven to be at fault.
