NSS Pays April Arrears After Personnel Strike
Following a staff strike declaration, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has paid out arrears for the month of April.
On July 3, 2024, the Concerned National Service Scheme Personnel Association of Ghana (CONSPAG) called for a statewide strike because their lives were being negatively impacted by unpaid allowances.
In response, on Wednesday, July 3, the National Executive Council of the National Service Personnel Association declared that the payments for April had been made available by the Secretariat and would be credited to employee accounts by July 5, 2024.
Furthermore, it is expected that May allowances would be disbursed soon after the processing of April payments.
Staff members have been instructed to maintain composure while attempts are being made to address unresolved matters.
The statement partly reads:
“After several engagements with the management of NSS and other stakeholders, we are pleased to inform you that the allowance for April has been paid, with the funds expected to reflect in your accounts by Friday, shortly after which the allowance for May is expected to be paid as well.
“We kindly request that you remain patient as you’ve been throughout these hardship months of unpaid allowance as we work diligently to ensure all outstanding issues are resolved promptly,”
