Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II Wins Another Term As President Of National House Of Chiefs.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, has been re-elected as the National House of Chiefs’ president.
He earned 42 votes in an election on Friday, November 22, defeating 30 votes for Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II.
With 54 out of 73 votes, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II defeated three other contenders to become the new Vice President of the House.
After the House passed a motion to address early concerns raised by some members regarding the election’s timetable, the election went ahead as planned.
Following his swearing-in, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II thanked the House and pledged to protect Ghana’s cultural legacy.
He called for cooperation among members and emphasized the importance of maintaining unity in order to facilitate peaceful national elections.
