Omene Bour Nana Fun Club Donates to Schools in Yonso

The Omene Bour Nana Fun Club, a community-based philanthropic group, has donated football jerseys and footballs worth GH¢5,000 to three basic schools in Yonso, Ashanti Region. The beneficiary schools are Yonso United Primary School, Yonso Islamic Primary School, and Yonso M/A Primary School.

*Empowering Youth through Sports*

The club’s CEO, Elder Emmanuel Osei Tawia, represented by Mr. Kwame Agyenim Boateng, emphasized the importance of balancing academics with extracurricular activities. He encouraged pupils to excel in both sports and education, highlighting that sports can foster discipline, unity, and excellence.

*Call for Community Support*

Mr. Agyenim Boateng urged Yonso indigenes, both home and abroad, to support the community’s development efforts. He emphasized that collective efforts are necessary to transform Yonso and improve the lives of its residents.

*Gratitude and Challenges*

The headteachers of the beneficiary schools expressed gratitude for the donation but highlighted challenges, including lack of toilet facilities, dilapidated classroom blocks, and inadequate infrastructure. They appealed to the Ashanti Regional Minister and the Member of Parliament for Mampong to intervene and support the schools’ renovation and expansion.
