The acting Director of Parks and Gardens, Dr. Daniel Kingsford Adams, has emphatically stated that his outfit will resist any attempt to sell any part of the land it occupies.
This statement was made during a working visit by the Local Government Minister, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, to the Parks and Gardens in Accra.
The issue of the sale of Parks and Gardens land has been a national concern, with widespread reports of some parts of the land being sold to private developers.
However, Dr. Adams has denied any such sale, stating that no portion of the land has been sold or leased.
“We are committed to protecting our land and will resist any attempt to sell or lease any part of it. We understand the importance of this land to the nation and will do everything in our power to preserve it for future generations” Dr. Adams said.

Local Government Minister, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah echoed Dr. Adams’ sentiments, stating that the government will do whatever it takes to protect the lands.
“We are committed to ensuring that our national assets, including Parks and Gardens, are preserved and protected for the benefit of all Ghanaians,” he said.
The Minister’s visit to Parks and Gardens was part of a broader effort to ascertain the veracity of reports of land sales and to take steps to protect the nation’s assets.
