Petrol Tanker Flips On Hohoe Sanko Road [Photos]
In the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region, an accident involving a gasoline tanker with registration number GN 44-76 has occurred on the Hohoe-Sanko Road.
Matthias Amuzo, an eyewitness, claims that he heard a tremendous commotion outside his house at around 3:30 in the morning and went to look into it.
According to him, the fuel tanker overturned and blocked the Hohoe-Sanko road.
Mr. Amuzo urged the government to come to their aid, attributing the disaster on the bad condition of the road.
The tanker driver was trying to avoid a pothole when he lost control of the vehicle and caused the accident, according to the Hohoe Municipal Fire Commander, DO III Bismark Hosu-Porbley, in an interview with Adom News.
He said that the tanker driver complained of body aches, and the driver’s aide had a left hand injury.
The Fire Commander stated that in order to protect people and property, their team had to remain overnight.
In an interview with Adom News, Yakubu Abas, the fuel tanker driver, attributed the accident to the bad state of the road.
He made a strong plea to the government to take immediate action about the condition of the road system that connects Oti and Hohoe to the northern region of the nation.
