A Tuesday accident at Akyem Asafo on the Accra-Kumasi Highway resulted in one person being declared deceased and several others injured.
A VIP bus with the registration number GT 5287-11 and an articulated vehicle with the number GR 1276-W were involved in the collision.
It is said that the bus driver attempted to pass a stationary car, causing it to swerve out of its lane.
After that, it rushed into the truck, tipping it over and spilling the sacks of rice it was carrying.
Responding quickly to the collision were members of the Ghana Police Service, Bunso Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and Ambulance Service.
The deceased person’s body has been placed in the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary, while the injured were sent to the Kibi and Suhum Government Hospitals, respectively, for treatment.
