Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP) are no longer eligible to run for president in the elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
This came about following the EC’s thorough review of the candidates’ nomination paperwork to make sure they complied with the law.
The EC announced this declaration on Friday, September 20, 2024, in a communiqué.
Following a comprehensive evaluation, the PNC and PNP applicants were found to not match the Commission’s requirements.
A number of additional candidates have also been verified by the EC to have successfully finished the nomination process and be eligible to run for president in 2024.
