PNP Flagbearer To Storm Supreme Court Over Her Disqualification

Following her disqualification from the 2024 presidential election, Janet Asana Nabla, the flagbearer of the People’s National Party (PNP), has vowed to pursue justice.

According to Madam Nabla, the process would start before the Supreme Court by Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the latest.

Following verification procedures, the Electoral Commission (EC) declared on Friday that Madam Nabla and ten other candidates were disqualified.

The EC claims that some candidates repaired flaws found in their nomination papers, but others returned the forms with the same or comparable problems, which led to their disqualification.

However, Janet Nabla, who left the People National Convention (PNC), is not approving of her choice.

She has accused the EC as dishonest.

She spoke in an interview:

“I will place an injunction on election 2024. The EC is being dishonest. They should come out and tell me what the exact errors were in my forms.

“The Electoral Commission is one of the organisations that I think the time has come for Ghanaians to come together to campaign and make sure that all those in the body are removed, because these are people who are not just truthful, they are not transparent, and their work is not for Ghanaians. They do things for their whims and caprices,”

The PNC’s Bernard Mornah, Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, James Kwesi Oppong, John Enyonam Kwakwu Kpikpi, Dr. Samuel Sampong Ankrah, and Nii Amu Darko were the other candidates who were rejected. Desmond Abrefah, Samuel Apea-Danquah, and other independent contenders.

Additionally, Kofi Asamoah Siaw of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has been disqualified.
