Police Grabs 88 Individuals Allegedly Recruited For Election Activities In Western North.

The Ghana Police Service is looking into the 88 individuals who were detained on two Metro Mass Transit buses on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Western North Region at Benchema, close to Asawinso.

According to a police statement, initial inquiries suggest that they were reportedly recruited by a man who has only been identified as Sammy.
The suspects, who come from different parts of the Greater Accra Region, such as Adenta, Oyarifa, and Madina, are purportedly supposed to guard polling places in a few Western North Region constituencies for the election on December 7.
Assisting with the investigation and efforts to apprehend Sammy, the suspects are presently being held by the police.
