Political Injustice In Nigeria Escalates As Election Nears

Nigerians are going to the polls to elect new leaders for the country as political injustice escalates.

Some supporters of Peter Obi have had their share of Nigeria’s political injustice today in Lagos. The former Lagos governor is running up his campaign as the country moves closer to the election.

Political thugs attacked Labour Party supporters who were waiting at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos for the arrival of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate.

Mr Peter Obi visited Alaba, Lagos, today, Feb. 11, after which he headed towards TBS where supporters were waiting for him. Many Labour Party supporters making their way to TBS were attacked by political thugs wielding machetes and other harmful objects. Properties were destroyed by the thugs.

The Former Governor took to Twitter to vehemently condemned the event. The cars of some labour party officials who tried to calm the situation down were vandalised.

Peter Obi also called on all meaningful Nigerians to speak against election violence before they go into the polls. Before you decide to fight for a political party, think about your feature also.

Condemning the attack, Dele Momodu, a supporter of the PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar said there is no reason for the violence. Violence is not what decided who rules the nation, he said.
