A 200 megawatt combined cycle power generation plant was put into service by President Akufo-Akufo as part of his attempts to guarantee a steady supply of electricity.
The first phase of a $1.2 billion, 515 megawatt project is the Bridge Power Station, which is situated in the Tema industrial region at Kpone.
President Akufo-Addo promised during the occasion that the nation will work to improve energy efficiency in order to prevent a recurrence of the previous unstable power supply.
According to him, a robust electrical grid will boost economic expansion and directly affect a number of other industries, such as health and education.
Since the project will relieve strain on the current infrastructure and meet both present and future demands, President Akufo-Addo commended Endeavour and other partners for their perseverance.
He claims that the bridge project will spark an industrial revolution that will unleash Ghana’s potential, draw in direct foreign investment, generate employment, and further the nation’s electrification initiative.
President Akufo-Addo acknowledged that the space’s financial difficulties were affecting its capacity to fulfill their commitments to the partners.
Early Power Ltd., a joint venture between Andaris, a fully-owned Ghanaian energy investment business, and Endeavor Energy, an independent power producer in the US, is carrying out the project.
By 2029, the project’s second phase will add 315 megawatts to the national grid.
Brian Herlihy, the CEO of Early Power Ltd., stated that the accomplishment of this milestone demonstrates their dedication to the goal of providing power to the Electricity Company of Ghana for the ensuing 25 years.
