President John Dramani Mahama embarks on diplomatic visits to The Gambia and Senegal

 

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Banjul as part of a two-country tour to The Gambia and Senegal.

This visit aims to express gratitude to the Heads of State of these West African nations for their participation in the Presidential inauguration ceremony held on January 7, 2025.

The visit underscores President Mahama’s unwavering dedication to fostering strong diplomatic ties and mutual cooperation within the West African subregion. By engaging directly with his counterparts, the President seeks to reinforce the bonds of friendship and collaboration, which are vital for regional stability, development, and integration.

Following his engagements in The Gambia, President Mahama will proceed to Dakar, Senegal, where similar discussions and expressions of appreciation will be conveyed. His itinerary also includes conversations aimed at exploring further areas of partnership and shared interest between Ghana and its neighbors.

President Mahama is expected to conclude his tour and return to Accra later today from Dakar, Senegal.
