President John Dramani Mahama has officially submitted a list of ten nominees to Parliament for approval to serve as Regional Ministers across various regions in Ghana
The nominees, comprising seasoned professionals from diverse backgrounds, were presented through the Speaker of Parliament.
The nominees include:
1. Ali Adolf John – Northern Region
2. John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Region
3. James Gunu – Volta Region
4. Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey – Eastern Region
5. Ibrahim Tia – North-East Region
6. Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Region
7. Akamugri Donatus Atanga – Upper East Region
8. Charity Gardiner – Ahafo Region
9. Salisu Be-Awuribe – Savannah Region
10. Linda Ocloo, MP – Greater Accra Region
Profiles of Key Nominees
Dr. Frank Amoakohene (Ashanti Region) brings a wealth of expertise as a medical professional, youth leader, and public service advocate. He holds multiple degrees, including an MBA, and serves as the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey (Eastern Region) is a distinguished leader in governance, education, and community development. She is pursuing a PhD in Migration and has been a strong advocate for women’s empowerment.
James Gunu (Volta Region), a veteran media practitioner, has extensive experience in journalism and local government administration, having previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi.
Linda Ocloo (Greater Accra Region), the current Member of Parliament for the Shai-Osudoku constituency, has a background in Banking and Finance and is dedicated to enhancing public administration.
