Prez Mahama expreses gratitude to outgoing service commanders

President Mahama commends outgoing service commanders for dedicated service

President John Dramani Mahama has expressed gratitude to three outgoing Service Commanders for their dedicated service to Ghana.

The outgoing officers are Mr Isaac Kofi Egyir, Director-General of Prisons, Mr Julius A. Kuunuor, Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, and Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi, Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

Following a meeting with the three commanders, President Mahama acknowledged their commitment and leadership, stating: “I am grateful to have met you to express my sincere appreciation for your dedicated service to Ghana. Thank you for your leadership and commitment!”

The President has appointed three new Service Commanders, who are set to be sworn in on Monday, March 17, 2025.

They include Deputy Director General of Prisons (DDGP) Patience Baffoe Bonnie, who takes over as Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service; Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Daniella Mawusi Ntow-Sarpong, who assumes the role of Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service; and Deputy Controller of Immigration (DCI) Samuel Basentale Amadu, who becomes Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The appointments mark a new phase of leadership within Ghana’s security and emergency services, as the newly appointed commanders prepare to take on their respective roles.
