Prof. Francis Nkrumah, Eldest Son Of Kwame Nkrumah Dies
The eldest son of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, Professor Francis Nkrumah, has departed from this life.
It is unknown at this time what caused the death.
However, on Sunday, June 30, 2024, Indian author and editor Vijay Prashad announced his passing in a post on X.

He died at age 89.
Sekou Nkrumah, his brother, posted a picture of the deceased on Facebook.
Despite the fact that there was no statement on his photo, the post has drawn sympathies and expressions of support from certain social media users.
The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research’s (NMIMR) longest-serving director was the late Emeritus Professor.
He was recognized for his contributions to the elimination of poliomyelitis in Africa as well as for his founding membership in the West African College of Physicians and the Pediatric Association of Ghana.
He was recognized in October 2016 by the World Health Organization (WHO) Africa Region for his outstanding and conscientious contribution to the eradication of poliomyelitis in Africa.
