Two armed robbers jailed 48 years for robbery in Wa Municipality

Two armed robbers have been sentenced to a total of 48 years in prison with hard labour for conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.
The convicts, Abdulai Ibrahim alias Baba, 34, a driver’s mate, and Abdulai Kipo, 36, a butcher, received 28 and 18 years imprisonment respectively from the Wa Circuit Court.
According to a police statement, the two were involved in a string of robberies in Napogbakole, Danko, SSNIT, and Konta, all within the Wa Municipality.
Their arrests followed intelligence-led operations and diligent evidence-gathering by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate.
The conviction and sentencing were carried out at the Wa Circuit Court, presided over by Jonathan Avoogo, which the police say demonstrates their firm stance on tackling violent crime in the region.
The Upper West Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to public safety and pledged to continue intensifying efforts to rid the region of criminal elements.
