Santos Stadium To Host Pele’s Funeral Rite
Brazillian legend, Pele, would be laid to rest in a grand style at the Santos Stadium.
Pele played his first professional football match at the Santos Stadium for the Brazilian club. Fans will pay their last respect to the legend.
The three-time World Cup winner, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, died Thursday at the age of 82. After a long battle with cancer, the legend was finally called to rest with his fathers.

Pele’s remains will go to Albert Einstein Hospital to Estádio Urbano Caldeira in Vila Belmiro at dawn on Monday. A coffin will be placed in the centre of the pitch.
Pele had a colon tumour removed in September 2021. Neither his family nor the hospital has said whether it had spread to other organs. He returned to the Albert Einstein hospital on November 29 with Covid-19 and a respiratory infection.
He scored 1,282 goals in 1,366 games during a 21-year career, which included 77 in 92 appearances for his country. A legend of the game.
The Santos Stadium is expected to host millions of fans from across the globe to pay their last respect. The influence of Pele on the game is huge.
