Sege: Bawumia Promises Construction Of Mini Harbour & Sea Defence If Elected

In the event that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is elected President of Ghana, he has promised to build a small harbor and a maritime defense system for the people of Sege.

According to Bawumia, his pledge will help Sege and the neighboring territories recover from the years-long destructive effects of tidal waves and promote economic development by enhancing the infrastructure supporting the region’s fishing sector.

During his trip of the Greater Accra Region, Bawumia spoke to a group of chiefs, traditional leaders, and Sege residents, emphasizing the urgent need for development in the seaside town.

According to the NPP flagbearer, Sege’s important location as a fishing hub necessitates vital infrastructure in order to safeguard locals’ livelihoods and promote economic growth.
He emphasized that building a small harbor would be a crucial first step toward modernizing Sege’s fishing sector and improving trade and market access for merchants and fishermen.

“We need a mini-harbour. So we are going to work on bringing a mini harbour to Sege here for you and that is a very important thing. And then, of course, very important, we need to do the sea defence for this area.

“So I have a lot to do for you. If I come back in four years, I will have to give an account of what I have done with the sea defence.”
