After the current campaign, Thiago Silva, a defender for Chelsea, will depart the team.
The Brazilian has made 151 appearances for the Blues since joining them on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain in 2020.
In that period, he has won three titles, including the Champions League for 2020–21.
Silva, 39, describes his devotion to the team as “indescribable.”
“Chelsea means a lot to me. I came here with the intention of only staying for a year and it ended up being four years,”
“It is already hard saying goodbye in the most normal of circumstances but when there is a mutual love, it’s even harder. But once a Blue, always a Blue.”
“I hope to leave the door open so that in the near future I can return, albeit in another role here,”
Silva began playing for the team under Frank Lampard’s management and has since been a member of the teams under Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Thomas Tuchel.
This season, he has made 34 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, with 25 of them starts coming in the Premier League.
The 113-time Brazil international center defender, who was formerly at AC Milan, expressed his desire to one day return to Stamford Bridge in a different capacity.
