Stonebwoy speaks out against societal pressure on marriage and childbirth

Ghanaian Dancehall artist Stonebwoy has expressed his views on the pressure society places on individuals to marry and have children.

In an interview on GTV, Stonebwoy reminded that parenthood and marriage are responsibilities that should not be rushed or forced upon anyone.

He noted that it is important for an individual to be fully prepared for the responsibilities that come with being a parent.

“Being a parent goes beyond just giving birth to children,” he remarked, stressing that it involves being responsible and ensuring that children are well taken care of until they can fend for themselves.

Stonebwoy also noted that societal pressure to marry and have children can be detrimental.

He pointed out that many people feel compelled to take on these life-altering roles before they are ready, leading to situations where “children are giving birth to children.”

The artist urged people to respect the gravity of becoming a parent or a spouse and not to rush into these commitments due to societal expectations.

He believes that true parenthood and family life should be embraced only when one is genuinely prepared for the responsibilities that come with them.
