Ghana Makes Me Feel: Storytelling campaign launched to capture Ghanaian experiences

A new storytelling initiative dubbed “Ghana Makes Me Feel” and “I Found in Ghana” has been launched in Accra, offering Ghanaians and international visitors the platform to share what the country truly means to them.

The campaign invites participants to describe Ghana through a single word, highlighting emotions, discoveries, and personal connections.

Speaking at the launch, Farouk Firdaus, Acting Manager of Travel Time Africa, explained that the project was designed to make Ghana’s story a shared and living narrative told through the voices of travellers, locals, and the diaspora.

“The vision is to celebrate authentic experiences that connect people to Ghana in meaningful ways. This initiative allows everyone to describe Ghana in their own words, whether joy, belonging, or discovery, and to unite travellers, locals, and the diaspora in a collective narrative,” Ms Firdaus said.

She encouraged others to see Ghana “through authentic eyes” and contribute to a lasting gallery of words, portraits, and stories that showcase the nation’s cultural richness.

The campaign comes at a time when Ghana is strengthening its reputation as a hub for international tourism, particularly following the success of the Year of Return and Beyond the Return initiatives.

Organisers say the project seeks to build national pride while positioning Ghana as a leading cultural and heritage tourism destination.

Mordecai Quaye, founder of Travel Time Africa, added that the campaign was about more than tourism. “Tourism is about more than visiting places – it’s about how people feel when they encounter Ghana. By gathering these one-word stories, we are amplifying the beauty and identity of Ghana for both locals and the world to see,” he said.
