Ghanaians can now travel to Morocco without a visa

Ghanaians no longer need a traditional visa to travel to Morocco. A new agreement between the two countries now allows travelers from Ghana to get an online travel authorization instead.

According to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ranking Member on Foreign Affairs, the authorization will be processed within 24 hours and does not require a visit to an embassy.

“This is one of the significant agreements reached with the Foreign Minister of Morocco, H.E. Nasser Bourita, during my two-day working visit,” Hon. Ablakwa announced.

The move is expected to make travel easier and boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Ghana and Morocco. With direct flights already available and more expected, the visa waiver aims to strengthen ties between the two nations.

“The borders in Africa must not be allowed to divide us — they can be bridges of connectivity,” Ablakwa stated. He also emphasized that diplomacy should have a real impact on people’s lives.

The visa waiver takes effect immediately.
