Taxi driver And Passenger Dead In Tragic Accident On Techiman-Kintampo Highway
Yesterday afternoon, a deadly collision involving a taxi and a trailer occurred on the Techiman-Kintampo highway, between Amoma Nkwanta and Pramposo, killing two people: the taxi driver and his usual customer.
The taxi driver, Ogyam, and his female passenger were killed instantaneously when the vehicle, which was headed from Techiman to Kintampo, struck the trailer head-on.
Their bodies had suffered irreparable damage.
Witnesses said that because of the bad state of the road at that particular stretch, the cab had slowed down to make room for the trailer, and the collision happened when a construction dump truck failed to slow down behind it.
The cab was forced into the approaching trailer after the tipper truck struck its rear.
The removal of the victims from the wreckage required more than two hours of work from the Fire Service, Police, and road safety officials.
A different trailer that was unable to stop collided with another car during the rescue effort, hurting a few occupants.
