Thief Electrocuted While Stealing Meter At Suhyen

In Suhyen, New Juaben North Municipality, a man in his 30s have been electrocuted.

Suspicion of an attempted theft arose after the victim’s lifeless body was found next to an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer.

In response to distress calls from the scene, a team from the Ghana Police Service and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) moved swiftly.

Based on first observations, it appears possible that the deceased person may have been electrocuted while trying to take parts out of the transformer.

After being moved to St. Joseph’s Mortuary, the body will undergo an autopsy to ascertain the precise cause of death.

The incident is being investigated by the Ghana Police Service’s Effiduase Division.

Kankam Twumasi Daniel, the deputy NADMO officer for the New Juaben North Municipality, spoke with the media about the event.

He discussed the risks involved in tampering with electrical installations and urged the community to maintain their vigilance.
