Three Lives Lost In Bus Crash Near Aggrey Memorial School In Cape Coast

A bus carrying passengers from Takoradi to Accra collapsed on its side at the crossroads near the Aggrey Memorial School in Cape Coast on Friday, killing three people.

About 53 people were on board the bus with registration number GW 6231-21 when it flipped on its side, trapping some of them.

Nine people were treated and released from the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, while 23 others who suffered various injuries are currently undergoing medical attention there.

According to Abdul Wasiu Hudu, the Central Regional Public Relations Officer for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the disaster occurred on Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 6:48 a.m.

He said that the majority of the passengers were saved and sent to the University of Cape Coast Hospital and the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for medical attention thanks to the combined efforts of GNFS officers, police officers, and ambulance service staff.

“Unfortunately, three of the passengers were confirmed dead at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital,” he stated.
