In the Ashanti Region today, a major accident occurred in Obuasi Mangoase when a truck transporting lumber lost control and overturned.
Two more cars and a cab were among the other vehicles that the truck collided with.
Significant damage was caused when the vehicle crashed into the back of a taxi with the license plate AS 1735-18.
It was carrying timber when it overturned, and some of the automobiles it crushed were registered GW 5088-11, which became stuck under the truck.
The midday tragedy was caused by the truck’s brakes failing, according to witnesses.
Surprisingly, the taxi driver and a passenger who was stuck in the car underneath the truck were recovered unharmed despite the seriousness of the collision.
There were no more casualties noted.
