Truck Packed With Second-Hand Clothing Catches Fire On Accra-Kumasi Highway

On Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle carrying used clothing caught fire on the Accra-Kumasi highway close to the Paradise Exclusive Resort at Bunso, causing fear and traffic jams.

According to witnesses, the truck and its contents were swiftly consumed by the fire, which started out of nowhere. Thankfully, the driver and his helper were able to get away unharmed.

Nevertheless, the fire destroyed the entire shipment of used clothing.

Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) firefighters arrived promptly and put out the fire with much effort.

Bystanders chastised the firefighters for their apparent ineffectiveness and subpar response to the incident, despite their best efforts.

The cause of the incident is being investigated, and it is believed that either defective wiring or the vehicle’s internal overheating were contributing factors.
