Video: Ursula Owusu Exposed Over Plagiarized Speech

The Minister for Communications addressed Parliament earlier this week amidst the recent network issues.

The MP for Tamale Central has called out Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for a “disrespectful” conduct after her address to Parliament last Monday amidst the internet outage.

He accused the Minister of Communications of what he called a word for word plagiarism sourced from the Nigerian Commission for Communications statement.

Hon. Murtala Mohammed further emphasized on how such dishonorable misconducts affects the sanctity and image of Parliament. He also called on the Speaker of Parliament to have the allegations checked and sanitized.

“If it is true, then that is low. It is terrible and it appears that way and that is why I want to make this submission to this House. And I expect you, Mr Speaker, to let them check if this is true, this must not be tolerated”  he stated.

“Parliament is a house of records and when Ministers are to appear before Parliament to provide information of a very important issue like the internet interruption we are facing, the least we expect from the Minister is to tell us something that is not original”, he told journalists after the session.

The Minister during her address also highlighted on government’s preparations towards licensing additional satellite Internet Service Providers to establish options in times such major events.

Ghana experienced an unusual outage of internet services after disruptions in the undersea cable systems of the internet service providers. The two major telecommunications giant in the country  MTN Ghana and Telecel were most affected.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful was confident on efforts to restore full internet services in the country within a period of 5 weeks.
