Young Ghanaian Man Stabbed To Death In Canada; Suspect Arrested

On Monday night, a horrible event occurred in Saskatoon, Canada, when a 23-year-old Ghanaian man—whom acquaintances only knew as Alfred—was tragically stabbed.

Around 7 p.m., the incident happened at a company in the 3900 block of Millar Avenue.

At 8 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a distress call and discovered the victim with multiple stab wounds.

When he arrived at the hospital, he was declared dead despite attempts to revive him.

Shortly later, the 53-year-old suspect was captured close to Spadina Crescent East and 2nd Avenue South.

Since then, he has been accused of first-degree murder.

According to Toronto-based Ghanaian citizen Maame Pokuah, the victim, who was born in Kumasi-Afrancho, had only arrived in Canada in September 2024.

The suspect, a friend and coworker who frequently gave Alfred a ride to work, is said to have attacked Alfred.

Alfred was stabbed 17 times by the suspect before he fled the site of the unprovoked attack, which happened during a work break.

Saskatoon Police said that additional investigations into the matter are being carried out by their Forensic Identification Section and Major Crime Section.

The Ghanaian community in Canada is grieving over the death and is demanding justice in this tragic situation.
