According to reports, YouTube, the well-known video-sharing website, is developing a new experimental AI-powered “Ask” button that will let Premium users ask questions about the videos they’re watching and get instant answers.
The new experimental AI tool is now available to a specific group of Android YouTube Premium subscribers who live in the United States, 18 years of age or older.
The newly added “Ask” button will show up beneath films that are eligible when the functionality is activate in Settings. However, users must accept Google’s terms of service for generative AI when they first press the button.
Users may pick from a range of pre-set prompts or just enter questions concerning the video they are viewing using the ‘Ask’ option. The AI will process both the video content and the query, providing seamless suggestions without interfering with the user’s video playing, whether they are looking for summaries or recommendations for relevant material or have their own customized searches. Even when watching instructional films, it keeps viewers interested by posing quizzes.
For a little period, YouTube is making this new experimental AI tool available. But it’s crucial to remember that this chance will expire on May 1, 2024. Kindly note that the ‘Ask’ feature is presently limited to English-language videos; it is not compatible with non-English videos .
