2024 BECE: 34 Prisoners Sit For Exams

This year, 34 prison convicts nationwide are taking part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

There are 27 minors from the Senior Correctional Centre, five from Nsawam Maximum Security Prison, and two from Sunyani Central Prison among the candidates, all of whom are male.
These prisoner candidates have demonstrated incredible tenacity by being escorted by prison guards to their many examination locations and back to the jails after completing their papers.

The prisoners have acknowledged their preparation and expressed confidence in their performance.
They’ve pledged to do well on the tests and bring honor to their teachers.

The tests are being closely watched, and invigilators from the Ghana Prison Service are there to make sure everything goes as planned and the exams are fair.
Through academic success, this effort gives these prisoners a chance at a better future.
