Ken Ofori Atta Is Ghana’s Saviour – Justin Koduah

Ghana’s finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has come under heavy criticism for the mismanagement of the economy. Prior to Covid, the economy was in shambles and even worse after that.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has again demanded its Members of Parliament to exercise caution as they begin a new push for Ken Ofori Atta to resign as Finance Minister.

According to some NPP members of parliaments, the Finance Minister is making the new patriotic party unpopular going into the 2024 general election. They argue that their respective constituency seats are at risk due to the effectiveness of the finance minister.

President Akofo Addo is alleged to have agreed to sack the finance minister after the IMF deal. Also, according to the information, Nana Addo Danquah gave the MPs his word to dispose of his cousin after the 2023 budget.

Reports indicate some NPP MPs have mounted a renewed push to get the Finance Minister sacked. Despite reaching an agreement with IMF for $3 billion three-year credit aid the economy, they still want him gone.

Speaking to the issue, General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Koduah said MPs should hold on with their cause. He demands they wait until the final stage of the 2023 budget statement is dealt with. Also, he commended the hard work of Ken Ofori Atta.

As we all know we are still in the debate stage in Parliament so I can assure you that once we are through with the process, the party will come back and whatever decision that will be taken between the party, members of Parliament and the presidency, we will make it known to the media and Ghanaians at large.

He should be allowed to work for the better good of our dear nation. Ken has shown he has Ghana at heart in all his doings. He is a good man and an even better finance minister. He added.

The 2024 general election will be challenging for the ruling New Patriotic Party. According to the members of parliament, the chance of returning to the august house is slim.
