Reports: Sadio Mane To Join Saudi Arabian Club Al-Nassr

Bayern Munich Forward Sadio Mane To Join Al Nassr

Fabrizio Romano reports that Sadio Mané is to join Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and leave Bayern Munich after one year at the club.

Talks between the two have taken place and Bayern have accepted the new proposal from the Saudi club. The paperwork regarding Mané’s contract will be checked by his representatives before the medical will be booked.

Sky Germany reports that the 31-year-old will not travel to Singapore on Sunday as they play his former side, Liverpool, in their pre-season tour.

In his sole season in the Bundesliga, Mané struggled to maintain a place in the Bayern starting 11, the 31-year-old’s time in Munich was not helped by an injury which meant he missed the World Cup and the beginning of the second half of the season. After a strong start before his injury, Mané finished the season with 12 goals and six assists in 38 games.

Mané was bought to play as a striker to replace Robert Lewandowski, but the Senegalese international was never comfortable in that position and was replaced by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. After his injury, Mané also struggled to regain a position on the wings in the Bayern 11 and spent most of his time on the bench behind Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané.
