Manchester City Struggles With Injury Problems

Pep Guardiola expresses concern over Manchester City ‘s challenging situation, attributing it to mounting injuries during a competitive Premier League title battle.

Guardiola acknowledges that Manchester City ‘s players are feeling fatigued, particularly after Rodri expressed a need for rest following their recent Champions League match against Real Madrid. Despite being third in the league standings, City remains in contention for the title, trailing Liverpool and Arsenal by just one point with seven games remaining. However, Guardiola suggests that if Rodri genuinely requires rest, he may need to be omitted from the lineup.

Manchester City has been doing well lately, but they’re starting to look tired. Last week, they had to fight back to win against Crystal Palace, and they let in three goals against Real Madrid. They haven’t lost a game since December 6 when Aston Villa beat them 1-0. They’ve had draws against both Arsenal and Liverpool recently.

Guardiola told reporters: “Take a look at our games and you realise. It is simple. He is so important for the quality he gives us. But if you have a player that doesn’t want to play, he won’t play. I need to rest the centre halves also but in [England’s] friendly games, [John Stones and Kyle Walker] got injured so they get cannot rest. We are in big, big trouble. I had the feeling we were tired in the last games. We will decide [on Saturday] what we have to do.”
