2026 WCQ: We’ll Do Our Best– Thomas Partey

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey stressed the need for focus ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali.

The Black Stars will play Mali on Thursday, June 6, in their third qualifier match.

At a Wednesday press conference, Partey, the team captain, said, “We need to stop Mali’s best players and focus on our game to get the result we want.”

The Black Stars, who have won one game and lost the other in their opening two matches of the season, are hoping to turn things around under coach Otto Addo.

Ghana began their qualifying campaign against Madagascar with a convincing 1-0 win in Kumasi, but they suffered a setback when they lost to Comoros 1-0 in Moroni.

The Black Stars are keen to win their next games in order to raise their position in Group I, where they are currently in fifth place.

At 19:00, the game versus Mali is scheduled to start.

After that, on June 10, 2024, Ghana will host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
