Bridge Collapse Leaves Enchi-Elubo Residents Frustrated

In the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region, in Boinso, the lone bridge that crossed the Boin River to connect Enchi and Elubo has fallen, trapping and frustrating locals and visitors.

The incident happened early on Sunday morning, severely disrupting local goods transit and the daily commute.

Thankfully, no casualties were reported; nevertheless, Boinso and neighboring settlements are now cut off from the surrounding areas due to the collapse, which has severely impacted local businesses and access to vital services.

Residents pointed out that after years of neglect, nothing had been done to fix the bridge’s deteriorating condition.

In the meantime, Nana Kwadwo Miah III, the chief of Boinso, has pleaded with the government to step in right once in order to repair the bridge and guarantee the security and comfort of the impacted people.

He pointed out that the bridge is the community’s only means of access to marketplaces, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions; as such, it urgently needs to be fixed to hasten the socioeconomic growth of the region.
