Real Madrid Star Nacho Moves To Al Qadsiah In Saudi Pro League

Nacho left Real Madrid to sign a two-year contract with Al Qadsiah, the Saudi Pro League team confirmed on Thursday.

After Euro 2024, the veteran Spanish defender, who led Madrid to the Champions League and La Liga double last season, will become a free agent and sign with the newly promoted SPL team.

In Germany, while serving abroad for Spain, Nacho had a medical examination prior to moving to Saudi Arabia.

In his 12 seasons with the first squad, the 34-year-old, who joined Madrid at the age of 10, has shared the club record with 26 championships won. Six Champions League championships are among his many trophies.

Nacho expressed his gratitude to Real Madrid during a press conference on Thursday in Spain.

He stated:

“Until a few days ago, I hadn’t signed for my new club and Madrid told me they would be there if I changed my mind. I don’t need a send-off like [Toni] Kroos had to realise how much I’m loved.

“I always had clear that if I didn’t finish my career at Madrid, I wouldn’t want to play against them. I want to experience something new, soThe seasoned center back chose to sign with Al Qadsiah despite being in advanced negotiations with Saudi powerhouse Al Ittihad.

“I could have stayed one more year but there’s nothing left to win with this jersey. It doesn’t mean I’m lacking ambition. I thought it was the right time. I am calm and confident with the decision I’ve taken,”
