Chiefs Involving Land Guards In Matters Will Be Destooled – Asantehene

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has expressed his unhappiness at reports that certain chiefs are involved in unscrupulous agreements and has issued a strong warning to traditional leaders who engage in illegal activities with land guards.

Speaking to chiefs at the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene denounced the illegal actions of these factions.

These organizations frequently use coercion, intimidation, and extortion against innocent individuals while operating under the pretense of defending property rights.

Any chief discovered working with these elements would be immediately destooled, according to the Otumfuo.

“I have started hearing about issues of land guards invading our lands. I have tasked the military and police to investigate because I want to know where that thing is happening.”

“If you are a chief, you will respond to why these guards are on the land I handed over to you. I have told you lands don’t vanish. If I hear of any report, I will destool you because you are unable to manage my land.”

This firm position is taken in the face of escalating worries about unauthorized land acquisition and the conflicts that beset the Ashanti Region.

Using the occasion, the Asantehene reaffirmed his resolve to stop unauthorized mining operations in the area.

He warned chiefs who did such things that if they reported them to him, they may lose their stools.
