Napo’s Brother Loses Manhyia South Election To Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah

Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, a private attorney in the ruling New Patriotic Party’s Manhyia South Constituency, has won the party’s parliamentary primary, which took place on Sunday, July 14.

With 376 votes, he defeated the previous MP’s brother, Nana Owusu Prempeh, who received 141 votes.

James Owusu received seven votes, while Akwasi Coker Gyambibi received a pitiful two from the other two candidates.

The NPP in the constituency held a primary to choose a new candidate for the upcoming by-election after Manhyia South Member of Parliament Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was chosen to be the running partner of NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

When nominations began, five people were chosen to run, although only four of them actually did so on election day.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a stronghold in Manhyia South, hence it is anticipated that the primary winner will eventually run in the general election to become the MP.

The freshly elected Manhyia North parliamentary candidate’s profile can be found below.
