Harry Kane, the captain of England, finished the competition with three goals, splitting the Euro 2024 Golden Boot with five other players.
A portion of the prize went to Dani Olmo of Spain, Georges Mikautadze of Georgia, Cody Gakpo of the Netherlands, Ivan Schranz of Slovakia, and Jamal Musiala of Germany.
In the 2-1 victory against Spain in the Euro 2024 final, neither Olmo nor Kane scored.
In previous Euros, assists were used as a tie-break, which would have allowed Leipzig midfielder Olmo to win the award on his own. However, Uefa declared that goals would be the only criteria used to choose the winner this year.
The 30-year-old Kane of Bayern Munich scored the equalizer against the Netherlands in the semifinals, the game-winning goal against Slovakia in extra time, and the goal against Denmark in the group stages.
With 36 Bundesliga goals, it completes a stellar season for Kane, who earned his first European Golden Shoe as the highest scorer in any of Europe’s major levels.
With six goals in the 2018 World Cup, former Tottenham striker Kane—England’s all-time top scorer—also took home the Golden Boot.
The player of the tournament was Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City and Spain who was injured and substituted off the field at halftime in the championship match.
The 17-year-old winger from Spain, Lamine Yamal, who scored once and assisted on four goals in Germany, was named Young Player of the Tournament.
