Fabregas Appointed Head Coach Of Serie A Club Como

After serving as Como’s deputy head coach, Cesc Fabregas was promoted to head coach of the Serie A team.

The 37-year-old Fabregas has inked a four-year contract with Como, who returned to the first division of Italy last season following a 21-year hiatus.

The Spaniard, who finished his playing career at Como last year, has been given his first full managerial position as head coach. He oversaw five games as Como’s interim manager from November to December of 2023.

The ex-Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder stated:

“I am so happy to be starting this season as head coach and I thank the ownership group for trusting me with this position,”

“I share the ambitions of the group and believe this is just the start of where this club can go.

“It’s going to be a tough and important season but myself and the rest of the coaching staff are ready and we all believe.”

2010 World Cup winner Fabregas served as Osian Roberts’ (Wales) assistant for the latter half of the team’s season. Roberts is currently Como’s head of development.

When they return to the top division on August 19, they take on 36-time Serie A winners Juventus.
