Cole Palmer Extends Chelsea Contract By Two Years, Now Lasting Until 2033

Cole Palmer has agreed to a two-year agreement with Chelsea that runs through June 2033.

Palmer’s new contract is a reward for his incredibly productive first season at Stamford Bridge, during which he made 45 appearances across all competitions and recorded 25 goals and 15 assists.

Palmer was acquired by Chelsea from Manchester City last summer on an initial payment of £40 million, with possible add-ons for an extra £2.5 million. The 22-year-old agreed to a seven-year deal with a one-year extension option.

Prior to joining Chelsea, Palmer had only made 19 Premier League appearances for City. However, he had a breakthrough season in west London, which led to a call-up to the England side for the European Championship. Palmer played in all five of England’s subsequent games as they advanced to the final, where he scored his team’s equalizing goal in the 2-1 loss to Spain, having been left out of the starting lineup for their opening two games.

Palmer finally made his way back to Chelsea last week after a vacation due to his success at the European Championship. In his first outing of the preseason, the offensive midfielder came on as a second-half replacement in Sunday’s 1-1 friendly match at Stamford Bridge against Inter Milan.
