Akufo-Addo Breaks Ground For Accra-Tema Motorway Extension Project
The Accra-Tema Motorway extension project, which aims to increase the motorway’s capacity and efficiency, has officially commenced under President Akufo-Addo.
The President stated that the nation’s development has benefited from the road for almost sixty years since Dr. Kwame Nkrumah put it into service in 1965.
He emphasized that the road’s importance is demonstrated by the 45,000 vehicles that it currently sees each day on average.
He did, however, emphasize that in order for it to continue benefiting Ghanaians and coming generations, the time has come for its rejuvenation.
During the August 26 event, the President emphasized that Ghana’s ability to innovate and lead in infrastructure development is demonstrated by this Public-Private Partnership, which serves as a symbol of progress.
The project’s phases and portions were also described by Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister of Roads and Highways.
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, the Regional Minister for Greater Accra, urged the contractors to incorporate the young people from the surrounding areas in the project, pointing out that many of them have useful abilities that can be put to use.
